Open Source Health with Tripp Johnson
Open Source Health is the podcast that doesn't just talk about fixing healthcare—we're actively doing it. I'm Tripp Johnson, CEO of the Advaita Collective, and I'm here to take you behind the scenes as we build a technology-forward, stakeholder-centric healthcare company. Our mission? To bring transparency and innovation to an industry that desperately needs both.
Join us as we dive into the intersections of policy, technology, and hands-on healthcare. We offer a rare glimpse into the challenges and triumphs of creating a system that works for everyone—patients, providers, policymakers, payers, and technologists alike. We'll share our journey of building in the open and have candid conversations with our team and other like-minded change-makers who are as passionate as we are about revolutionizing healthcare.
This is Open Source Health, where we don't just diagnose the problems; we roll up our sleeves and work on the solutions. Let's get started.

Joanna Lilley: From Higher Ed to Therapeutic Consulting
In this week’s episode, Tripp sits down and talks with Joanna Lilley. Joanna is a Therapeutic Consultant and works with individuals and families who are often leaving higher education to receive treatment for mental health and substance use. Joanna started her career in higher education counseling and ended up leaving, partially due to the inability to serve students in the most meaningful and impactful ways.
Here’s a glimpse and what Tripp and Joanna cover:
- Joanna’s journey from higher ed counseling to therapeutic consulting
- The dark side of “student retention”
- The role of a therapeutic consultant in a young adults journey to wellness
- How college campuses are ill-equipped to respond to the de-stigmatization of mental health concerns
- How “helicopter parenting” leaves young adults unprepared to navigate struggles in college
- College isn’t going anywhere - you don’t have to have a linear path to be “successful”
Since 2016, Joanna Lilley of Lilley Consulting has been helping families and young adults find treatment options during a time of transition or crisis. Joanna dedicates herself to working solely with emerging adults who unravel before going to college, when they land on a college campus, or after college graduation. She is also the host of the Success is Subjective podcast, co-founder of the College Parent Survival Network, and a squeaky wheel about the mental health epidemic in higher education.
